Default transmission slugish??

Hey there everyone. I have an 87 camaro with the 2.8L V6. It runs and drives great, but when i goto pass someone, it doesn't feel like it has enough power to accelerate hard after 50 mph. It shifts down only once, and there is clealy, nothing there to get up and go, thats with the petal to the floor. From 0 to what ever, it winds out, and takes off. And In my celica, when i romp the gas from 50, it takes off. It just seems like my camaro is pussing out. And i think the transmission is to blame. Thanks for any help. Later
