Default SGS

I recently bought a 2000 Camaro and noticed on the dash a switch with the letters SGS across it. If anyone can tell me just what this button is for.....

Thanks,

Jonah

Default SGS => Second Gear Startup

jonah316

The SGS stands for Second Gear Startup. It is said to be a kind of traction control system. All it does is it starts the transmission in 2nd gear instead of 1st. This is to help prevent the wheels from spinning in slippery conditions (like ice).
